Per when it asks to the National Statistics agency, apart from counting people, a census is also used to find out more about Zimbabweans and how they live. Actually, the National statistics agency wants clarification about everything about the Zimbabweans, that does impact the country. Factor such as unemployment depends on the basic services or people’s standards of living need to be captured on the census. The main motive of the census is to find out more about Zimbabweans and how they live. Because the census wants to know about the unemployment status in the country, also wants to access basic services or people’s standards of living need to be captured on the census questionnaire. Zimstat spokesperson Mercy Chidemo said.

He said, our questionnaire has several modules. There is a demography module, functionality, labor force, and housing characteristics. So these are the motive for having a census in the country. Census included that questions are found in all censuses in the developing world to measure access to basic services, energy source (lighting and cooking), water (top, borehole, or open well/river), and housing, such as the type of building including walls, roof, and floor types.

Rather than in South Africa a census also asked about the questionnaire about construction material of outer walls, floors, and roofs too. So this is how South Africa identified standards of living/people’s welfare and the information about the economic and social identity. So these could be the reason for having this kind of question from the census to Zimbabweans. Government has a different opinion about asking these kinds of questions to Zimbabweans. So everything behind the reason or people should first try to know it then should get a reason.
