Manchester United were beaten at home by a lone goal courtesy an own goal by Luke Shaw in the 11th minute.

Barcelona began proceedings by keeping possession in the opening 11 minutes and were deservedly  rewarded with a goal  after Lionel Messi’s cross was blasted across the face of goal goal by Luis Suarez only to be turned in by the arm of running Luke Shaw into his own net.

Though the goal was flagged offside by the linesman, VAR came to Barcelona’s aid and the goal stood much to the disappointment of the Red Devils.

United grew into the game with Pogba crossing a delightful ball to Lukaku in the Penalty box of Barcelona but the powerful striker failed to make a connection allowing the ball to cross the line for a goal kick.

Chances became very rare  in the entire game but Barcelona  had their moment in the 36th minute when Coutinho’s powerful drive following a Luis Suarez layoff was well saved by United’s safest pair of hands David De Gea.

Diego Dalot on the other hand couldn’t take the opportunity to equalize as he headed  wide a delightful cross from close range.

Manchester United controlled the game much to the delight of the home crowd but it was Barcelona who left Old Trafford with all the three maximum points.
