A day doesn’t go by without a celebrity insulting bloggers. Artistes like Shatta Wale has rained insults on bloggers on several occasions while the general public also lash bloggers everyday for ignoring societal issues to promote sex leaks and other social vices.
The image of bloggers have been tarnished due to the struggle for traffic to various blogs. Websites owned by the media giants have all joined this battle for traffic.
Latest to insult bloggers is Hiplife artiste, Kwaw Kese who described Ghanaian bloggers as “third world bloggers”.
Kwaw Kese who was not happy after reports emerged that his mother was dead and he had refused to help in the burial because of an issue he had with the late mom, took to social media to record a video denying the rumours.
In the video, which has since gone viral, Kwaw Kese revealed that his mum was very much alive and kicking and the news about her demise and their grievances was just a figment of someone’s imaginations.
This rumour was probably started by a fake website and many blogs and media houses fell for it without making any checks. So the insults went for all the websites that believed and ran the story.
The media is filled with lot of fake news. GTV once announced the ‘death’ of South Africa ex-president Thabo Mbeki after a fake website published it.
Peace FM also reported that Usain Bolt gave all his Olympics earnings to his former school.
NewsGhana.com.gh said NDC and Sarkodie entered into a GHS 7 million deal.
Interestingly, most of the fake stories ran by the media giants were started by blogger Akesse Sanza as satire but they pick, polish to remove all elements of satire and present them as real stories.
