Tema Youth Football Club has formally written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to find out whether it mandated private lawyer Frank Davis to demand a 10 per cent share of Joseph Paintsil’s €3million transfer fee.

FIFA had written to the Ghana FA to seek clarification on the issue after a local journalist requested their interpretation on player transfer matters.

The CEO of Tema Youth, Wilfred Kweku Osei has confirmed they have written to Ghana’s football governing body for clarification on the authority and role of Mr Frank Davis.

He added that the 10 per cent share of the 3million euros transfer fee being demanded by the Ghana FA is illegal and unconventional for the football body to demand their share through a private lawyer without a Power of Attorney because the standard procedure is to use its internal structures to resolve the issue.

Joseph Paintsil was transferred from Tema Youth Football Club to Belgian Champions KRC Genk after playing on loan at Ferencváros.
