Nigerian Ghana-based musician, Mr Eazi has proved to the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy that music is business which requires a huge financial investment.
According to Spotify’s 2018 wrap up statistics, Mr Eazi’s songs on the platform was streamed 163 million times with 8 million hours of music stream from 65 countries.
Social media marketing experts have figured out that Mr Eazi doesn’t depend on organic reach only but invests in the running of ads on social media platforms hence his overwhelming 163 million music streams on Spotify.
Whilst Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are bragging over 9 million, 6 million and 4 million music streams on Spotify, Mr Eazi is calmly leading with 163 million music streams.
Comparing the percentage of Nigerians using the internet to that of Ghana, Mr Eazi’s 163 million music streams on Spotify isn’t surprising and it’s time Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and others invest hugely in their music.
