Costa Rica goal keeper Keylor Navas hopes to stay at Real Madrid for next season.
Navas believes he can fight for the number one spot with Thibaut Courtois.
Zinedine Zidane has rotated his goalkeepers after he took the Real Madrid coaching job for the second time.
The 32-year-old was the first choice for Madrid when they won three consecutive Champions League titles in Zidane’s first spell.
Navas has enjoyed consistent game time since Courtois’ injury and hopes to improve and stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I’m very happy, grateful to God for giving me the chance to be here,”
“Whenever I get the opportunity to play I do the best I can. I hope I can stay at Madrid next season. I have a contract and we have to wait and see if anything changes there.
“It has been complicated season for everybody. We come out with a desire to win and play at our best but the results aren’t always going our way, we’re all sad for the situation, it’s complicated.’’ He stated
Madrid have had a poor run this season crushing out of the Champions League and 13 points adrift rivals Barcelona in the La Liga.
Navas has played seven matches for Real Madrid this season.
