Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri is optimistic talisman Cristiano Ronaldo will be fit to play in their first leg UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Ajax.
Ronaldo has not played for Juventus since suffering a hamstring injury in Portugal’s Euro2020 qualifier against Serbia last month.
The 34-year-old striker is set to be available when Juventus takes on Dutch giants Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening.
“He always feels ready, but I told him to rest. We are confident of having him at Ajax on Wednesday,” Allegri told Sky Italia.
Juventus beat AC Milan 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium to move 21 points ahead of second-placed Napoli.
During his post-match interview, Allegri stated: “Ronaldo is getting better. We have good chances to see him against Ajax. But let’s wait these days.
Ronaldo has been instrumental in his first season scoring 24 goals in all competitions.
