This weekend comes with action packed and exciting games across Europe.
Asembi Sports brings you betting tips and predictions of five of the many matches to be played this week.
Man City vs AFC Bournemouth – Home win and over 2.5
Manchester City’s unabated dominance in the premier league this season is expected to continue when they face Bournemouth at the Etihad.
With the bookmakers tipping the citizens to win the league just after eleven matches, they do not look like removing their foot off the pedal anytime soon. After an impressive 11 wins and just 2 draws in 13 outings and scoring 40 goals, their clash with Bournemouth who have won just 6 matches, lost 4 and drew 3 and have never won a premier league game against Man. City at the Etihad, this fixture is expected to be a nothing but a stroll in the park for the citizens.
It is expected that Manchester City will win not less than 3 goals.
VFB Stuttgart vs Augsburg – Away Win
VFB Stuttgart have been in a stuttering form this season. With only one win at home this season, Coach Markus Wernziels is closing in an unwanted record by Alexander Zoniger’s record of losing his first four matches as Stuttgart boss. Their marksman, Mario Gomez has scored only 3 and has not been able to put the ball at the back of the net in his last 5 outings.
Augsburg on the other are playing hot and cold this season under Manuel Baum. They are currently of a dismal streak of two consecutive defeats against Hoffenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt. Fuggerstadter allowed at least two goals in each of last four games in all competitions. They did score in all but one of 12 league games so far and we expect them to maintain such trend against the team with the second weakest defensive record in the division.
An Away win for Augsburg is expected in this game.
Borussia Dortmund vs Freiburg – Home and over 1.5 goals
Dortmund were surprisingly held to a goalless draw by the likes of Belgian champions Club Brugge on Wednesday evening to lose the pole position in the UCL Group A standings. It will be interesting to see if such result will affect team’s domestic displays as they are looking to return on the winning ways on Saturday when Freiburg come to visit Signal-Iduna-Park.
It has been a dream run for Die Schwarzgelben so far in the season in Bundesliga. They are as many as nine points clear off the reigning champions Bayern Munich as four off the second-placed Borussia Monchengladbach after 12 rounds of the competition.
BVB won seven and drew one of previous eight league games. They’ve been almost impeccable at home winning five and drawing one of six matches in Bundesliga. Can they maintain such record here against Breisgau-Brasilianer?
Lucien Favre has a deadly line-up of attackers led by Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus who have combined 17 goals so far in the season. They should have plenty of room to deliver past Freiburg’s defense which is yet to keep a clean sheet on the road this term.
Christian Streich’s men conceded three or more goals on two occasions in five away fixtures so far in the season. Given they are up against league’s deadliest attacking line on Saturday, it is really hard to predict anything else but a comprehensive victory for the table-toppers.
You can have Dortmund to win by two or more goals. The ideal bet to place is Dortmund win and over 1.5.
Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich – Over 1.5 goals
Ipswich have not shown much improvement yet under new manager Paul Lambert and, worryingly, they continue to ship plenty of goals.
Wednesday aside, Forest have looked strong in defence all season and could well expect to strengthen their position in the play-off places with another win and potentially another clean sheet.
Before conceding five goals in Wednesday night’s epic, Forest had only conceded one goal in their previous five Championship encounters. They face an Ipswich side who have only won one of their last eight fixtures and who have only kept one clean sheet all season.
An integral part of Forest’s success this season continues to be their leading scorer, Lewis Grabban, who has now notched up 12 goals in his last 12 Championship appearances.
Joe Lolley also continues to be extremely influential for The Reds, with an incredible goal and four assists against Aston Villa on Wednesday night – fancy him to score at the weekend?
It’s very easy to see why the home support will be expecting goals in this fixture. At least 2 goals will be scored in this game.
Braga vs Moreirense – Home win
Braga is ranked on the 3rd place in the standings with 26 points, 24 goals scored and 12 goals received in the last 13 league games. They have failed to win 3 of their last 13 matches in Primeira Liga. In their last match they won against F.C. Paços de Ferreira.
Braga lost 2 of their last 5 matches before this game with Moreirense. The attacking skills of Braga are moderate, they won 3 events from the last 5 played.
Moreirense on the other hand are ranked on the 15th place in the standings with 12 points, 12 goals scored and 17 goals received this season in Primeira Liga. In their last match they lost against Chaves. Moreirense lost 3 of their last 5 matches before this game with Braga.
The attacking skills of Moreirense are moderate, they won 2 events from the last 5 played.
A 2 nil win is expected from the home team Braga.
