NAM1 wins case in Dubai; awarded $56 million to pay Menzgold customers.




Several websites are reporting that the embattled CEO of gold trading company Menzgold Ghana Limited who is standing trial in the United Arab Emirates has had the case against him dismissed. The story, which also appeared on, a satirical website, said Nana Appiah Mensah has been awarded $56 million by the court.


The website, as shared above, indicated that it’s a satirical piece when it referred to a satirical newspaper in Dubai. It stated: “A Dubai-based satirical newspaper who broke the information reported that Horizons Inc. effected the payment of the said amount to NAM1 few hours after the court’s ruling.”

The website also comes with disclaimers alerting people that all stories published on the site “are solely works of fiction”.


NAM1 is still standing trial in Dubai and information about the status of his trial is not available to the media. Unconfirmed reports had it that he was to appear on the Valentine’s Day February 14 for the third time in court. There has been no update since.
