MENZGOLD SAGA: Abeiku Santana And Others Visit NAM1 In Dubai Police Cells

A supposed legal team from Ghana, led by broadcaster Abeiku Santana has reportedly visited Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to ‘defend’ the embattled Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1.

NAM1 is standing trial in Dubai over his alleged involvement in a purported $51 million gold scandal.

He was arrested in Dubai on December 7, 2018, following a complaint lodged against him by an Emirati firm called Horizon Royal Diamonds.

Many customers in Ghana have their investments locked up with Menzgold.

The woes of the company started after the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) directed Menzgold on September 7, 2018, to halt its unlicensed deposit-taking transactions with the public.

In a Facebook post about the trip to Dubai, Mr. Santana, who is believed to be a close ally of NAM1 wrote “when the Ghana legal team, led by Barrister Abeiku Santana arrived in #Dubai to defend #Nam1 @ Dubai, United Arab Emirates.”

Mr Santana confirmed his visit to Dubai in a telephone interview with DAILY GUIDE.

His post was accompanied by pictures of some men believed to be part of the legal team in white Islamic costumes with the flag of Ghana.

NAM1 enjoyed the support of several celebrities such as Jackie Appiah and Jocelyn Dumas.
