Liverpool beat Manchester United to stay top

Liverpool beat Manchester united at Anfield in one of the most difficult fixtures in terms of history in the premier league.

Liverpool went into the game as the favorites though history favored Manchester United.


The reds started the game brilliantly by piling a lot of pressure on Mourinho’s men by finding spaces and creating lots of chances.

Their hard work paid off in the 24th minute when Sadio Mane got to the end of a long searching ball from Fabinho by planting it coolly at the back of the net.

The Red devils converted their only clear chance after Liverpool goalie’s howler in the 33rd minute courtesy Jesse Lingard.


Liverpool continued to boss the game in the second half till substitute Shaqiri found the back of the net twice in 73rd and 80th minutes the to put Liverpool in control.

A bad day it seemed for United, the match ended with their fierce rivals winning by 3 goals to 1.

Earlier in the day, Chelsea won away by 2 goals to 1 against Brighton and Hove Albion whilst Arsenal were stunned by 3 goals to 2 by struggling Southampton.


The Reds remain the only unbeaten side in the league on top of the league with 45 points.
