A former John Agyekum Kufuor appointee for Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Keta, Edward Kofi Ahiabor has reportedly committed suicide. No immediate reasons have been identified for this incident. Mynewsgh.com, who initially carried the story is confirming that Ahiabor committed suicide. However, no official investigative report was given to back up the confirmation.
According to information gathered from sources close to the incident, the man had gone missing for a couple of days. It was only for his body to be found later on Friday in an uncompleted building near his father’s house in Anloga.
The uncompleted house he allegedly committed suicide is reportedly opposite one of the branches of popular Volta Regional fuel station chain, Fraga Oil. He left no suicide note that might help explain things. Reports indicate that investigations are not withdrawing suspicions he could have been murdered by unknown assailants.
The deceased was once the best farmer in the district and previously served as MCE in 2004.
