It’s not a secret that at the pomp of his dealings, the boss of the embattled gold firm in Ghana, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) decided to venture into artiste management which resulted in the likes of Stonebwoy, Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, Becca, Benedicta Gaffah and TooSweet Annan signed onto his Zylofon Media Label.
This move necessitated another move for persons who will be managing these artistes and one of such artiste managers signed was Nana Asiamah Hanson, also known as Bulldog, who was then nursing his wounds of been ditched by Shatta Wale, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King.
Bulldog was tasked to scout for talent and oversee the artistic development of recording artists at Zylofon Media.
From a reliable source, Bulldog decided to use his new office and NAM1’s clout to lure Shatta, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, into the fold where he can get his pound of flesh as he got to know that all NAM1 was doing was a scam when he got into the fold. This is in his quest to avenge his sacking by Shatta Wale after their three-year manager-artiste relationship.
Have we ever thought of why Bulldog, who was at war with Shatta Wale and claimed “Shatta Wale was not among his best artistes as he’s not as good as he claims to be”, will advise for him (Shatta Wale) to be signed by Zylofon Media? Not forgetting the label already had Stonebwoy, who was in the same frame as the SM boss and was his direct competitor, turning blind eyes to what the aftermath will be.
The artiste-manager and scout made Ghanaians believe that Nana Appiah Mensah was the one interested in and intends to sign Shatta Wale unto the label as he explained to MzGee of JoyNews’ in relation to a picture that surfaced at that time spotting Shatta, Bola Ray and Bulldog (The artiste-manager and scout).
“What I can say about that picture is that my boss Nana Appiah Mensah had a vibe with him and invited me over and that picture took place. So basically that picture you saw happened because of Nana Appiah Mensah of Zylofon Media and not because I wanted it”, he told MzGee.
He also answered, “I can’t speak to that issue; I can’t give facts on that issue as it is. If it’s going to happen, obviously there’s going to be a grand announcement and if it’s not, we’ll all know”, when asked if Nana Appiah Mensah is trying to sign Shatta Wale onto Zylofon Media.
Shatta Wale was finally signed onto the record label and he was made to invest almost all the money he got from the signing deal in Menzgold. He was been paid GHS 30,000 and out of that, per the agreement, he was investing GHS 28,000 in Menzgold. Virtually leaving him with just GHS 2,000 at the end of every month for the deal he signed.
When things fell apart at Menzgold and the center could no more hold, the SM boss, who will go on to become one of the company’s major unfortunate customers, became very angry at the turn of events. He decided to hide behind his friends and economic hardships when he returned from his ‘Reign Europe Tour’ and rained insults on the president, Nana Akuffo-Addo, for the hardship in the country whereas he was actually referring to the president’s supposed role played in enhancing NAM1’s credibility.
Bulldog, now getting Shatta Wale where he wants him to be, is now cooling off in Russia and laughing at Shatta Wale and obviously saying, “If Shatta thought he’s the King of Dancehall, he (Bulldog), is the Supremo of Revenge”.
