Ghanaians celebrities and the teams they support

Most Ghanaians have the notion that politician, musicians, civil servants, security personnel are only attracted to their professions. That is indeed a fallacy. Football is the most-loved sports in Ghana, and our celebrities have a strong affiliation to these football teams that entertain them every day with their mesmerizing skills on the field.

In this article, I will take you through the football teams some of our Ghanaian celebrities support.

Tinny

Nii Addo Quaynor, one of the biggest faces in the Ghanaian rap game is a staunch fan of Accra Hearts of Oak. The rapper predominantly raps in the Ga dialect; he is one of the many music names who hold links with the Accra-based club.

Tinny as he’s popularly known can usually be observed proudly wearing Accra Hearts of Oak paraphernalia.

Kofi Kinaata

The Fante Rap God, Kofi Kinaata is a die-hard Manchester United fan. Kinaata is always on social media teasing fans of Chelsea football club and other English premier league side. He’s made mention of the fact that he is better off than Jesse Lingard.

Sarkodie

The Ghanaian rapper and BET award winner is a strong football fanatic who does not hide his love for English side Chelsea Football Club. He is also seen talking about the Blues when the club loses or better still win a game.

Manifest

Manifest is one of the outstanding rappers Ghanaians have ever witnessed. His never-ending passion for Manchester United is an envious one to talk about. He doesn’t hide his love for the team even when they are losing sometimes even seen involved in a bit of banter with other fans.

Nana Aba Anamoah

Every Ghanaian knows that the award-winning media personality is a die-hard fan of Manchester United. She shows her love for the team everywhere she is.

Nana Aba is also an avid fan of Great Olympics and sometimes watches their game. She was recently appointed a management member of the club as the head of Marketing, Sponsorship and Branding.

Nana Akufo Addo

The president of Ghana, Nana Akuffo-Addo expressed his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur when they qualified to the Champions League final last season. He is also a fan of Real Madrid.

Kwame Sefa Kayi

Kwame Sefa Kayi is a media personality, a journalist and a public speaker who is also a strong fanatic of Manchester United. Most of the celebrities seem to be strongly attracted to the English giant. He also locally supports Accra Hearts of Oak.

Kwesi Arthur

The Tema-born hip-hop star is a die-hard Hearts of Oak. He is a superfan and has professed his love for the Rainbow club on so many occasions. He has been seen on TV in the team’s jersey.

Kuami Eugene

The fast-rising highlife artiste is an ardent supporter of the Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko. The ‘Confusion’ hitmaker disclosed in an interview with Kumasi-based radio station Kessben FM that he has Ghana football at heart aside his love for music, adding that to the fact that he would choose to work for Kotoko for free if he’s called upon anytime by the club’s management to do any project.
