FIFA World Cup Russia 2018: France trash Croatia 4 : 2 to win the 2018 World Cup

The Les Blues of France have beaten the Croatian national team 4 : 2 to land their second World Cup title two decades on from their famous 1998 victory against Brazil on home soil.

France opened the scoreline with an own-goal by Mario Mandzukic followed by goals by Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, and teenager Kylian Mbappe to secure the Les Blues World crown in Moscow.

France went into the match as clear favourites and they live upto the expectation by taking full control of the game from start to finish.

Croatia have however made history by defying all odds to appear in the World Cup finals for the first time. Croatia is a small nation with a population of 4 million people.

They unshakable inspiration from their captain Luka Modric and coach Zlatko Dalic, were however not enough to see them past France.
