Origin

Ghanaian Gospel Musician Anita Afriyie has received the insults of her life after news publications hit social media with the headline Stop bragging, you live in single rooms – Gospel act Anita Afriyie tells Ghanaians abroad. The report first appeared on Pulse.com.gh.

The reported originated from an interview the musician had with blogger Zionfelix where she said that many Ghanaians living abroad go through a lot of stress just to survive but put on their bragging ‘cloths’ when they return home. The publication quoted her exact words but gave the story a misleading headline.

Anita Afriyie said:

“It’s very difficult to live abroad, because rent is very expensive. But because of their brags when they return, they find it difficult to keep up when their families or relatives visit. They sometimes can’t find where to lay their heads but they brag.”
