#BringBackOurTaadi Girls is currently the number one hashtag on Twitter. This follows the failure of the Police in Takoradi to locate the victims kidnapped by Nigerian alleged kidnapper, Samuel Wilson Oudoterg despite his arrest.

The hashtag which was initiated by JoyNews yesterday following an appeal by the girls’ parents to the government to assist them to find their children has been trending on Ghanatrends on Twitter as the number one hashtag.

The ostensive campaign which has been well welcomed by Ghanaians has had celebrities such as Kofi Kinaata, Pappy Kojo, Michael Oti Adjei, Gary Al Smith, Israel Laryea all joining the campaign for the lookout of the victims.

The parents of the girls have bewailed the level of commitment of the Police in the Western Region to assist them to find their missing children.

Some residents in Takoradi have therefore described the Police’s commitment as repugnant and lazy exercise.

According to the relatives, they believe the Police could be hiding something down their sleeves and therefore called for government’s intervention.

They backed this with the sudden escape of the suspect whiles in Police custody and very optimistic that the escape was a calculated attempt by the Police to assist the alleged kidnapper to alarm to his accomplices to escape with the victims.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police in the Western Region, DSP Olivia Adiku has however denied claims that her outfit is sitting aloof in respect of the case.

She lamented that all leads enabling them to find the girls have been abruptly curtailed following the suspect’s failure to corporate with the Police to reveal  the location of the kidnapped girls and his accomplishes involved in the crime and revealed that, despite the suspect  taking the Police to various locations to locate the victims numbering seven have all proved futile.

She further pleaded with the victims’ families to exercise maximum patience with the Police as they do everything in their capacity to locate the victims and uncover the accomplices involved in the crime.

JoyNews, however, has pledged support in finding the missing girls and has therefore implored Ghanaians to hashtag #BringBackOurTaadiGirls till they are located.
