Members of the Film Producers association of Ghana (FIPAG) gathered at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi to elect new leaders today.
The Ashanti regional minister ,Hon Simon Osei Mensah, who attended the event, in a brief speech thanked film producers for their contribution to the national development and also confirmed that Kumasi will have an international standard theatre after government complete the signing of an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) with some investors whose names were not disclosed.
Ace movie producer James Aboagye has been elected the new President of FIPAG and he will take over with his team made up Peter Ekpe (Public Relations Officer) and Ebenezer k. Esuahene (Treasurer). Full list will be updated later.
In his acceptance speech, the new FIPAG president elect, Mr James Aboagye thanked members forgiving him the mandate to lead the association and added that he will do anything possible for the association to show leadership in the movie industry. He also pleaded with government to include Film in all national discussions as far as development is concern.
