The world football governing body, FIFA has banned former president of the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) Keramuudin Karim from all football activities for life.

The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA’s independent ethics committee confirmed the decision following allegations of sexual abuse from at least five female Afghan players.

FIFA issued a statement to confirm the ban of Karim from football activities.

“The adjudicatory chamber found that Mr Karim had breached article 23 [protection of physical and mental integrity] and article 25 [abuse of position] of the FIFA Code of Ethics”.The statement read.

In addition to the life ban from all football-related activities he was fined one million Swiss Francs.
