The winner of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt will pocket $4.5 million.

The amount is an increment from the 2017 edition which was $4 million.


CAF boss Ahmad Ahmad announced the prize money as well as the amount to be received by all 24 teams participating in this year’s tournament. All participating teams at the competition will take home about $600,000.

‘’Obviously, we increased the prize money for the competition,” the CAF boss revealed on Radio France.

The Africa Cup of Nations will be played for the first time with 24 teams from the 21st of June to July 19th in Egypt.
