Don’t be fooled in thinking that Ghanaian popular music record label, Zylofon Media/Music is still vibrant and flourishing amidst Menzgold near-collapse brouhaha. In fact, Zylofon Media/Music as it stands now is in crisis and likely to collapse should the mother company, Menzgold, which is its backbone go down finally.
Looking at how things are unfolding at Zylofon Media/Music with rumours of top management forcing some workers and Artiste Managers to resign, Joyce Blessing’s quitting brouhaha and other problems, it is obvious that the centre is gradually losing and cannot hold anymore.
Now, there have been a number times that Zylofon Media/Music has given the public a hint that indeed, the record label which was once compared to some of the biggest and famous labels in Africa is gradually collapsing.
Asembi.com has monitored some of the utterances of the top management team members, signed artists and insiders which clearly give the public hints that Zylofon Media/Music gradually collapsing.
─Joyce Blessing allegedly quitting the record label: Just recently, the Ghanaian female gospel musician was in the news for allegedly parting ways with the record label over lack of financial support and a host of other problems. News of the “I Swerve” hitmaker leaving the record label gave a hint that indeed Zylofon Media/Music is collapsing.
─Joyce Blessing revealing that Artist Managers have been forced to resign: Joyce in an interview concerning her decision to quit Zylofon Media/Music with Rainbow FM monitored by Entamoty Live (an entertainment YouTube channel), she revealed that Zylofon Media/Music Artist Managers were allegedly asked to resign adding that top management members are currently unreachable. This also gave a hint that Zylofon Media/Music isn’t getting any better.
─Public Relations Officer for Zylofon Media/Music, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo honestly admitting that the record label is in serious crisis also gave the public a hint that Nana Appiah Mensah’s Zylofon Media is on the verge of collapse.
“As we all know Menzgold has been facing some challenges in recent times and it is expected that as a sister company to Zylofon Music, the record label would encounter crisis too”, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo admitted in an interview monitored by CitiNewsRoom.com.
Arnold clearing the air on rumours that Joyce Blessing has parted ways with Zylofon Music in the same interview gave another hint that Zylofon Music could collapse anytime soon.
“As we speak, Joyce Blessing is part of the record label. No artist has left but the possibility of they leaving in times like this, is imminent,” Arnold hinted.
─Zylofon Music management asking Artists to quit if they’re not happy with the record label is also a clear indication that things are losing up gradually at Zylofon Music.
PRO of Zylofon Music, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo in an interview with Happy FM monitored by Zionfelix.net gave a hint that Zylofon Music is collapsing when he said; “contracts are not shrines which do not allow people to freely get out of them when they feel so and as such, if artists like Joyce Blessing, Stonebwoy, Obibini, Shatta Wale and the others on the label feel that they are fed up, they should just follow the due process to get out of the contract”.
─Willie Roi furiously asking ‘ungrateful’ Joyce Blessing to return the money, car and mansion if she is not happy also gave music lovers and fans of the record label a hint that things aren’t going on well at the record label, signalling that anything is bound to happen!
─Rumours of Stonebwoy quitting after his contract expires in 2019: In various reports circulating on Ghanaian entertainment blogs, Stonebwoy, a top signee at the label is likely not to renew his contract with Zylofon Music once it expires in August 2019. This rumour has also sent strong signals to the public that the record label is collapsing.
Well, since Stonebwoy in the wake of confusion with the record label during Shatta Wale’s signing somewhere in 2018 stated emphatically in one of his short interviews that all promoters and event organisers who wish to have him on their shows should do so through his Manager, Blakk Cedi and not Zylofon Music gives the impression that he wouldn’t renew his contract once it expires in 2019.
─Head of Zylofon Arts, Willie Roi revealing that Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM1) signed artists just to promote his Menzgold company during an interview on Kasapa FM with Kojo Preko Dankwa is evident that Zylofon Media is currently ‘useless’ without Menzgold and likely to collapse since the mother company has been shut down.
─Finally, Willie Roi ranting on Facebook that “Ghana is a shithole for music business” is a big hint that things have fallen apart at Zylofon Music and likely to collapse anytime soon.
There is no way Willie Roi, a top management team member would have posted “Ghana is a shithole for music business” on Facebook indeed if all is rosy at Zylofon Music and not collapsing.
