2021 Grammy Awards: Beyonce, Blue Ivy & Wizkid Win Best Music Video

Beyonce, Blue Ivy and Wizkid have been named the winners of the Best Music Video for Brown Skin Girl at the ongoing 63rd Grammy Awards.



The award was won alongside Beyonce who owns the song and featured artist, Saint Jhn and Wizkid. The award will also go to Jenn Nkiru who was the director of the video. They battled it out with top-notch musicians like Drake, Anderson. Paak, Harry Styles and Woodkid to emerge, winners, of the category.



The music video for Brown Skin Girl was featured in Beyonce’s 2020 film Black Is King which was released in August 2020. The video acts as a celebration and affirmation of the beauty of dark-skinned women. The music video was primarily filmed in South London, as it was intended for Black Is King to feature locations from throughout the African diaspora.

The song was released to widespread critical acclaimed and received numerous awards including the Soul Train Music Awards for Ashford &Simpsons Songwriter’s Award and BET HER Awards.
